Online Dating - 11 Reasons To Go Online For Love

January 31st, 2008 by cyndebeil

By Alison Edwards Where do you go when you are looking for love? Are you considering joining an online dating site but not sure its for you? Let me tell you how I first discovered online dating and why I firmly believe it fits in with our modern day lifestyles A couple of years ago online dating still had a stigma attached to it. Although people were using the internet as a method of dating, they did not discuss it with friends or colleagues for fear of coming across desperate. I recall a friend of mine who was initially embarrassed to tell me she had joined an online dating site. At the time, I was rather surprised as she was an attractive girl who would be considered quite a catch. However, after chatting to her I completely understood why she had resorted to this method of dating; she was simply tired of meeting timewasters who were not interested in committing to a relationship. Whilst she had no desire to date some of the men who contacted her, there were quite a few she was interested in and she began a dating spell to make any “singleton” jealous. She then struck up an online relationship with someone who lived 100 miles from her. After exchanging many emails and chatting on the telephone, she decided to meet him. Obviously, the distance didnt make the relationship ideal but the spark was there and she enjoyed 6 months dating someone with similar interests, shared romantic weekends together and had a fantastic holiday. Although he didnt turn out to be the one, when I asked if she regretted joining an online dating site her answer was “Definitely not!” Her view was that if she hadnt joined an online dating site, those 6 months would have been spent moaning about meeting the same timewasters in the same old haunts and wondering “what if”. She was simply being proactive in her search for love; after all life is far too short! If youre not convinced online dating is for you, here are 11 reasons why I think online dating has its advantages:-
You dont have to wait until the weekend to meet someone. You dont have to get dressed up for a night “online”. Wear whatever you feel comfortable in at home. If you work unusual hours online dating fits in with your schedule. You can log on at any time of the day to suit you; there is always someone online waiting to chat. If you start chatting to someone and then decide they are not what you are looking for, put them back in the net gently and choose another. There are plenty of fish in the sea! If you are tired of seeing the same old faces when you go out, there are people of all age groups all across the country waiting online to meet someone. If you are new to an area online dating is a great way of meeting people whether it’s for friendship or dating. If you meet a few people online in your area, you can arrange a get together for you all rather than meeting on a one-to-one basis. If all of your friends have settled down or you have recently become single what better way to meet new someone quickly than to go online and meet more singles! Anonymous messaging and chat rooms let you flirt to your hearts content without any embarrassment or getting tongue-tied. You will probably find out more about someone online before you arrange a date with them than you would if you had met them in a bar. Online dating usually makes people more cautious about who they choose to date and in this day and age that cant be a bad thing! We now live and date very differently to previous generations where the traditional place to meet people was in nightclubs, parties, at work or through friends. By joining an online dating site you are not excluding these avenues but simply extending your opportunities of meeting someone. Finally, 1 months membership costs less than a night out and gives you hundreds of opportunities to meet your perfect partner every night! With so many positive reasons to go online for love, finding your perfect partner has never been easier. Try it out for yourself and please let me know how you’re doing. How to eMail Your Professor

January 29th, 2008 by cyndebeil

By A Khan So its 12:30 Pm and there you are at the computer trying to refresh the email inbox page. The big test is tomorrow and your Professor still hasnt replied back, but why? Contrary to popular belief, that your Professor wants you to fail, the problem could stem from the fact that your email never reached him/her. Hence, the purpose of this guide is to show students how to write an effective email to their Professors. The From Field
Always use your University or College email address when sending an email to your professor. This not only assures the professor that you are indeed a student but also avoids your email from getting put in the spam box. Many Universities and Colleges now employ a system of only allowing emails to be received from certain domains anything else (hotmail, yahoo…etc) is either automatically put in the spam box or is forwarded to the Professor as a potential spam. Example:
Astudent@university.edu The To Field
This is the single most important field, if you mess up in here there you can kiss your email good bye. Avoid putting the Professors name with the email (A Prof ), since not all emailing system can handle this format. It is always best to send your email to the Professors University or College account, since that is the email account that your Professor checks, or should check, the most. And again before sending the email double check to verify that email address was typed correctly. Example:
Aprof@universtiy.edu The Subject Field
The subject field should be of the following format: CollegeName-CourceCode-Title-Subject CollegeName: Is the name of your post secondary institution (America Learning College, Boston Universityetc). Yes I do realize that this may seem a bit redundant but it is important. Most Professors (Usually new Professors) teach at one or more Universities and Colleges at any given term, and the email from those institutions gets forwarded to one main address, usually their ISP email address. So to keep things organized its best to write the name of the College or University in the Subject Field. CourseCode: Is the code name of the course (MTH140, CPS124, GEF345etc). Its best to keep the letters Capital and no spaces between the number and letter. Title: Over here you type in the title of your subject. (Test 1, Midterm, Exam, Assignment 5etc) Subject: Over here you type in what concern or problem you might have (Due Date Issue, Missed Test Issue, HW Problem #45etc). Remember to keep it brief, no more then 5 words. Example:
Boston College-MTH140-Assignment 4-HW Problem #45 The Text Body Field
Try to keep things simple, clean and to the point. By that I mean no 2 page emails or fancy fonts and color, remember your first priority is to convey your message not to show off your email editing skills. Start off with writing the Professors name (Prof C.Mcgill, Prof U.Stanetc). Move on to the subject of your email, as a reminder restate the Course Code and Title Field (During the Mondays MTH140 class you stated for Assignment 4). The next line should state the problem or concern. Remember to provide details and avoid repetitions. Its best to end the email with a salutatory statement (Thank You, Yours Truly..etc) and use your name, student number and College or University name as signature. Example:
Prof C. Mcgill,
During the Mondays MTH140 class you stated for Assignment 4 question #41 to use the second derivative theorem. However, I am having trouble as to how to find the delta X? In particular, during the situation when time is 3 seconds and delta Y is 0. Do we set delta Y to Ymin and solve from there? Thank You

Boston University Things to Keep In Mind
- Give a minimum of one weekday for Professors to reply back, before sending another email.
- Avoid sending multiple duplicate emails at any one given time.
- Try to send emails during weekdays and if possible during the Professors office hours.
- Try to be respectful and Professional (i.e. no offensive language, spell checketc).
- Avoid taking out frustration by spamming the Professors email box. StudentDump.Com: Student Resources Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=A_Khan http://EzineArticles.com/?How-to-eMail-Your-Professor&id=35750 phentermine online with mastercard

Anniversary Gift Ideas

January 28th, 2008 by cyndebeil

By Kevin Stith A jubilee of any sort is a definite excuse to celebrate and to acknowledge a sense of fulfilled experience. It is another opportunity that serves to extend good will and appreciation. As also to acknowledge that those who travel alongside enrich the journey. Defining moments, new benchmarks of achievement, a threshold to newer pastures, a lifetime of living-all these events share anniversaries that are unique yet universal. Gifts for these occasions must convey your jubilation and compliments. An intensely personal triumph is being shared and needs to be met with equal warmth and generosity of spirit. An anniversary should be researched and planned well before the shopping begins. What is the anniversary all about? How many people are involved in the occasion? What is your link to the event and the people concerned? How do you wish to convey your feelings about the landmark attained? Are you presenting the gift alone or as a group? As a group presentation, flowers and confectionary say it best. Each month of the year has a specific flower or color associated with it, so offer the appropriate selection for that month when the anniversary falls. Fresh fruit and wine baskets also appeal, besides invaluable utility kits or items that reflect hobbies and shared interests. An individualistic approach would be to go for gifts that speak from your heart and convey your pride and satisfaction. Your knowledge of the key persons who are being celebrated will guide you to choose the right memento. Books, artistic pieces, office or home accessories, spiritual or religious talismans are some of the favorites. Jewelry with specific stones of the zodiac or animals that represent noteworthy qualities is another alternative. Handcrafted personal stationery or customized products can also convey the right touch with lan. A cross-cultural celebration requires more attention to detail and cultural appropriateness. Your balance and foresight in choice of gift will go a long way towards earning you long-term associations with the persons concerned. You can unknowingly insult or sully the moment if your gift is carelessly chosen, badly wrapped, ill-timed. Anniversary gifts must show your love and loyalty and your sincere hope for a future that quadruples the present exhilaration. Is Exhibition Still the Most Effective Mediums for Establishing the Business Relations?

January 27th, 2008 by cyndebeil

By Ronald Chau In an exhibition where buyer, seller and product are brought together under one roof is viewed by business people as an opportunity for generating business. Exhibition provides the chance for them to share their innovations and latest development to their customers. In fact, exhibitions can offer you massive opportunities that a wide range of sales and marketing objectives can be achieved. Exhibition is an occasion to generate and increase sales, launch new products and build brand image. More importantly, it will give you a chance to maintain customer relations. However, is the scale of your exhibit important? A big, headline-grabbing exhibit is all very well, but sometimes, some customers demand a more personal approach. And smaller events, done properly, can generate sizeable sales. If you consult event professionals to what extent that your exhibit should be organized and they often provide you with a mixed response. The truth is that there is no simple answer to whether you should go big or go small. Different sizes of exhibit will all serve different purposes, depending on whether the idea is to firm up working relationships; close a deal; bring a new product to market; increase brand awareness; or gain new customers. Regardless of the scale of your exhibit, there are a variety of benefits of participating exhibitions. For example, if you plan to boost your company image, change market perceptions on your products or increase annual sales, you can penetrate a large audience in a short time and most importantly, you can achieve more in a few days than you may otherwise achieve in months. Exhibitions are also one of the quickest and most cost-effective means of exploring and entering new markets. Furthermore, in contrast with the passive traditional advertisements and direct mailing, exhibitions involve a two-way communication process. Visitors can question and obtain answers while exhibitors can give and seek information. Most importantly, business is conducted face to face - the most persuasive form of selling, and of building customer relationships. More often than not, participants in an exhibition are usually very active in obtaining facts as well as information rather than passive recipients of your sales and marketing messages. They make a conscious decision to attend, and set aside valuable time to do so. An advertisement, direct mailing or web page may say a product is the fastest, quietest, smallest or most advanced on the market. At an exhibition, buyers can see, taste, touch and try your product for themselves. Nothing beats the impact of a live demonstration. Oct 2006 www.pilconcept.com All Rights Reserved. The Lawyer’s Secret Weapon - Paralegals

January 24th, 2008 by cyndebeil

By Jack McDonough Efficient management of caseloads and staff is required for lawyers to fully utilize the potential of their practice. Paralegals can play a significant role to ensure this goal. The Department of Labor is projecting that paralegals will be among the fastest-growing professions in the economy by the year 2008. Below are some of the benefits that attorneys and clients can experience from the employ of a good paralegal: Benefits to Attorneys Most legal firms are not streamlined in order to make optimum use of staff. Many lawyers are doing the same work that paralegals do. By allotting work to a paralegal, your own time can be utilized by handling those tasks that require your expertise. Instead of handling every last detail of each case (can you say micro-manage?), set up time each week/day to meet with your paralegal, so that they can bring you up to speed on each case theyre handling for you. The payoff? Increased income from the ability to handle more cases, and more time off, as your presence at the office isnt required to get everything done. Benefits to Your Clients According to a study conducted by American Bar Association, 70% of people choose not to seek help from lawyers for their legal needs. Why? The high cost of legal services and the headaches of dealing with lawyers. Why not use this information to your advantage by offering every client the services of your excellent paralegal staff? Clients who retain you are seeking to rely on you and your staff. Clients are aware that your availability to them is costly. So delegate. When dealing with a paralegal, clients see up close how the appropriate time and attention has been given to their case. This helps clients feel confident about your firms legal services, and also helps to form a strong relationship between the client and your firm. Moreover, the paralegals close interaction with the client can help you understand all aspects of the case better. Without such personal attention, clients may feel overlooked and apprehensive about seeking your help with additional matters. Benefits to the Paralegal Paralegals, as evidenced by their choice of profession, enjoy challenging jobs. With increased interaction with you, a paralegal will be able to perform varied tasks, and decrease your workload substantially. According to a recent study by National Association of Legal Assistants, the tasks of assisting clients, drafting correspondence and pleadings, research, case management and document analysis are the aspects of the legal profession preferred by paralegals. Again, delegation makes sense, so that your expertise can be utilized for revenue production. By taking advantage of the suggested benefits listed above, you can not only streamline your office, but you will also find that you have the time (and energy) required to look for new avenues of growth. Nine Ways to Tell You’re Ready for a Promotion

January 19th, 2008 by cyndebeil

By Dina M. Giolitto So you noticed the new job board posting on your way back from lunch. They finally decided to fill the assistant manager spot in your department! Trouble is, you’ve only been in your current position for about eight months. There’s also been some talk of hiring from outside. Should you go for it anyway? Here are some ways to tell if it’s time to power up the corporate ladder. 1. You’re currently one notch lower than assistant manager. If your job title includes the word Senior, then you’ve likely earned some recognition at your place of employment. Is assistant manager the next step up? Why not give it a shot? The worst thing that can happen is that you don’t get the job… and hey, there’s always next time. When you go for the gold, people will realize you’re quite a gem. Start getting noticed for your ambition and drive! 2. A large portion of the department responsibilities falls into your lap. Don’t underestimate your own worth. If you’re currently doing the work of two or more people and doing it well, then you should be compensated for it. Is it possible you were overlooked? Don’t feel slighted. Negativity holds us back from getting where we want to be. Instead, take a strategic leap forward. Sometimes people get so wrapped up in their own issues, they fail to see what’s before their eyes. You know the job like the back of your hand, and that’s far more than a stranger off the street knows. Speak up and make your capabilities known! 3. Your manager consistently looks to you for solutions. If you’re playing problem-solver at the office, that’s a pretty good sign that people value your input. What better indicator of your ability is there than a boss who seeks you out for answers? Does your supervisor come in from meetings and immediately drag you away for a private pow-wow? You’ve already got a foot in the door! Now get the rest of yourself behind that desk in the corner office for a view of the skyline! 4. Your manager confides in you regularly. Are you the Big Cahuna’s main confidante? Good office chemistry is hard to come by. If your boss trusts you with everything from top-secret office rumors to “what to do with that belligerant marketing coordinator,” to the fight he had with his wife last night, this speaks volumes about his opinion of you. Sounds like you’ve very naturally clicked into Position 2 in the chain of command. Time to lock in to more money and an official manager status on paper. 5. You’re well-known and respected among your colleagues. Do people smile and greet you by name when you walk into a group setting? Do managers of other departments frequently solicit your opinion? When the boss is away, do your peers appoint you to act in his absence? Being the office social butterfly is one thing. To know that your fellow employees admire and respect you for the job you do is another. One of the biggest indicators you’re ready for a promotion is if your boss’s boss has faith in your ability. Having a support system in place works in your favor and can be the ‘in’ you need to get ahead. 6. You’re often asked to represent your team of coworkers in meetings. As much as we dread them, meetings are a vital part of daily corporate life. Meetings are where opinions are voiced, issues are hashed out, schedules are coordinated and progress is made in leaps and bounds. A great leader can speak on behalf of a group. A great leader can effectively communicate in all directions- from upper management to lower, from lower to upper, and also laterally. If people place their faith in your ability to get a message across, that means they’re willing to let you represent them. There is no better indicator of management potential than being summoned as a spokesperson. Take it as a great compliment, and then take the next step toward your success! 7. You feel personally responsible for the welfare of your department. Do you find yourself thinking and speaking for the group? Are your peers in your best interest? Often, you can sense when you’re ready for a position of increased responsibility. The true commandier operates from the point of view of ‘we’ instead of ‘me.’ Do you feel genuine pride when a member of your team goes above and beyond the call of duty? Do you act as the automatic diplomat and defender? When a coworker encounters a setback, are you truly moved to help them overcome their problem? Do you empathize with their disappointments? Rejoice in their victories? It’s time to heed the call! 8. Your peers look to you as an advisor and comrade. Corporate life is full of folks at cross-purposes. Clashing wills, clashing personalities, misunderstandings, injustices of all kinds. If you have a gift for navigating through the rough waters, smoothing ruffled feathers and healing bruised egos, maybe it’s time to seriously think about moving up. Trust is earned, not bought. If you have been offered the gift of others’ trust in a setting where people mow over each other to get ahead, that is truly a great thing. Use it for the good of the group! 9. You truly love your job. You know in your heart how you feel about your job. Do you dread getting up every morning? Or do you look forward to facing the challenges of a new day… tackling that project… making your own small contribution to the bigger picture? If your work is your passion and you truly love what you do, it will be very apparent to those around you. Enthusiasm is contagious. If you can light a fire under someone’s behind, there is no one more suited for a position of authority. This is your time to shine… so be a star! Get the recognition you’ve worked so hard to achieve, and step up toward making an even more powerful difference for the future of your company. Copyright 2005 Dina Giolitto. All rights reserved. How To Prepare Satisfying And Enjoyable Food For A Bridal Shower

January 15th, 2008 by cyndebeil

By Gregg Hall Preparing for a bridal shower is difficult in it of itself, but its creating a menu that can be most challenging. There are so many details to take into consideration. Not only do you have to consider the bride’s preferences, but you also have to worry about your guests who might be allergic to certain types of food. There could also be vegetarians in your midst. These concerns, though, are usually overshadowed by the entertainment good food can provide. Everyone loves Sunday brunches, right? A brunch theme will be casual, yet provide enough food for those looking for a full meal. Baked goods are a staple in any brunch, and you can’t go wrong with different types of fruits as another side. If you’re looking for a main dish, quiche is always well-liked. When it comes to drinks, coffee, tea, juice, and milk are ideal choices, but you could also provide champagne punch or Bloody Marys as more fancy alternatives. To top off your brunch with a dessert, it’s a good plan to stick to fruity desserts, such as lemon squares or chocolate covered strawberries. If your bridal shower is in the late afternoon or evening, you will want to keep your menu simple so that you can be a good host. Preparing a meal ahead of time, such as a casserole, is a good plan because the casserole can bake while you see to your guests. Lasagna is a popular option for this. Keep your side dishes basic too. Something like a salad is ideal in this situation, because like the casserole, it can be made in advance and be ready to serve. Another alternative to a casserole would be grilled or smoked meat, as again you can prepare them in advance. This type of main course is for great presentation and provides you with the opportunity to individually serve your guests, so it’s probably best to reserve it for more formal types of bridal showers. It is also a good idea to provide vegetarian alternatives for those in your crowd who do not eat meat or animal products. The casserole and salad menu is an ideal choice in this case, and the Web is a great resource if you need to find vegetarian or vegan recipes for planning this sort of menu. Cake is probably the most time-honored dessert when it comes to bridal showers. However, with more and more brides going against tradition, this might present a problem. A dessert buffet with several different choices, including cake, is a good solution to this dilemma. Or, you could serve the bride’s favorite dessert in place of cake. But, if you feel cake is necessary, serve it with other alternatives such as spiced fruit pies. You could also serve only desserts as your shower theme. A fun option might be a chocolate fountain, if your desserts involve chocolate covered items like strawberries. You can’t go wrong with a large selection of hors d’oeuvres either. Provide a great deal of finger food, such as cheese, crackers, muffins, veggies, and dips for your guests to choose from. This setup is ideal if you do not have much space for a sit down type meal.
