Interview Question: Why Did You Leave Your Last Job?

Tuesday, March 4th, 2008

By Carl Mueller How should you answer the question “why did you leave your last job” especially if you were forced to leave because you didn’t get along with your boss? If you voluntarily left the company and are asked in an interview why you left your last job, you might approach it in several ways. You could simply tell the truth and briefly tell the interviewer that you and your supervisor had a disagreement and you decided it was in your best interest to leave the company and pursue other employment. Alternatively, you could answer the question in more general terms and suggest that it was simply time to do something different and that you left the company to pursue alternative employment. Either way if you can get several positive references from this employer, this will help your cause. I suspect you won’t want to use your supervisor as a reference but hopefully you can utilize other people you used to work with who will positively speak of your experience and skills while employed at the company. The reality is that we won’t necessarily get along with every single person we work with and conflict sometimes occurs. I have helped job searchers who got into a dispute with their boss and who left the company as a result. Any concern I had with this person was alleviated when I was able to get a good reference check from several of their former colleagues. If you anticipate that a company might have a problem with why you left your previous employer, proactively offering references from this company to the interviewer can help prove that you have nothing to hide and that they have nothing to fear by employing you. Pest Control - Mosquitoes

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

By Stephanie McIntyre Few creatures on Earth have seemingly less redeeming value than the mosquito. Aside from providing food for birds and other insects, it’s hard to come up with any quality that they possess that makes the world a better place. I suppose of you’re a mosquitologist, or whatever an expert on these flying pains in the you know what are called; they may hold some fascination for you. But for just about everyone else, the consensus opinion is probably that the world would not miss these guys if they found another planet, in another solar system, in another galaxy, in another universe, to live on. Mosquitoes can ruin an otherwise perfect day. The cookout where everyone is enjoying the food, drink, company and weather, can become a bad memory if mosquitoes appear in numbers. And a relaxing, fun-filled camping or fishing trip, can turn miserable when these flying micro-vampires start to swarm. But mosquitoes are more than just major league nuisances. They can be downright dangerous to have around because of the many diseases they carry. Some of the nastiest infections a bug can deliver are borne by mosquitoes. Dengue, West Nile virus, various forms of encephalitis, malaria, and a host of others are all delivered to the human population courtesy of the mosquito. They also threaten our pets as the carriers of heartworm disease. So, as was stated previously, they have little or no redemptive value. These guys are found worldwide. They are a problem wherever they’re found, but they can be controlled. In order to do so it helps to know something about them. Mosquito females are the troublesome ones for people, and other mammals. The adult females are the ones who bite. The males and the immature mosquitoes do not. Males are important only as mates. The females need to feed on blood in order to produce eggs that are viable. They lay their eggs in any standing water that they can find. That’s why they’re so much worse when there is a lot of rain in a given year. Mosquitoes can be controlled in a number of ways. One of the most important is to make sure there is no standing water on your property. This won’t eliminate them entirely as they can fly from somewhere else, but it can help to reduce the ones produced in your immediate area. After thorough elimination of all standing water, you must deal with those water sources that can’t be eliminated. These include pools, birdbaths, fish pods and the like. For these you can use mosquito dunks, which are little floating, doughnut shaped biological control products that kill mosquito larvae. They will kill all of the larvae in water but are completely safe for humans, pets, fish and other forms of life. Killing these pests in the larval stage is more effective, efficient and a lot easier than killing the adults. If need be, they can be broken into pieces and used in smaller containers of water. To kill mosquitoes outdoor you can use a fogger. When populations are really large or when in preparation for outdoors activities, a fogger will not only kill mosquitoes, but other outdoors pests as well. Be sure when using them to follow all package directions and warnings. For personal mosquito protection, a good repellent is a must. Many containing the active ingredient DEET have proven to be effective. Be sure to read and follow all label directions for any product you use. In general, repellents are applied to the exposed parts of the body and clothes. These products will not kill mosquitoes but will keep them from lighting on you and biting. Finally, one of the best warm weather protections against mosquitoes is a well-made screen porch. One without any holes in the screen. You can enjoy the nice weather and keep frustrated mosquitoes on the outside, dreaming about the meal that they can’t have. Stephanie McIntyre and Wendell Bryant are Internet developers. Big Problem

Saturday, March 1st, 2008

By Kenneth C. Hoffman I can’t seem to lose this weight -
See the hippo in the zoo.
What I eat won’t satiate
No matter what I do.
My scale reads high
As I step off with a sigh.
So if you like to gloat
I’ve been thinking -
We’re all in the same boat
And it’s sinking! In the first place, you should never eat and watch television. Not only
do you forget what you ate, but also how much you ate. There must be
dozens of dieting shows on the tube, but none of them address the fact
that you are hungry, so you eat. One fact that may help is that the smaller the portions that you serve yourself,
the smaller your stomach becomes and the less food you need to be satisfied.
diabetics with a weight problem are coached to measure their portions in
palm sized amounts. We tend to fill whatever dish we have in front of us
and we were taught to not to waste food and to eat everything on our plate.
Maybe it would help to down size the dish. We pay hundreds of dollars every year for Fat Free foods. The human
body has mechanisms to store fat for lean years. Fat is the last energy
source to be expended. Our cave men ancestors
found fat hard to come by in the wild since nuts, berries, roots , leaves and
even high metabolism squirrels contained little fat. Unfortunately, in some
sense, food in this day and age and country is plentiful. One diet that works for many people is to eat more vegetables and less meat
and dairy products. Most jobs involve miles of walking and stair climbing
which qualify as exercise. It is true that the muscles will rise to the demand,
expanding when the demand exceeds their capacity. And there is little fat
in muscles. One good way to exercise and increase you muscle tone is the resistance
method. You attach a large rubber band to a door knob and pull until you
get tired. No equipment to find a home for and you are reminded every
time you go out or in. Another is the crunch device that simulates sit ups.
We all have our own natural body shape and is goes against nature to
change it to any extreme degree. Just eat right and keep busy. I am a retired portrait photographer. Actually I weigh 180 and am 5′8″. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Kenneth_C._Hoffman http://EzineArticles.com/?Big-Problem&id=117794 ambien erfahrung
